baldor_160x120Baldor Electric will invest $12.2 million in Kings Mountain, North Carolina operation, as it moves its South Carolina operations to other locations.

The State of North Carolina has offered the firm $157,000 in incentives.

The Kings Mountain plant in currently employs 500. The new jobs will pay an average wage of $38,000.

The firm is shuttering its Fort Mill, South Carolina plant and moving production to Kings Mountain. One hundred and forty Fort Mill workers have been offered positions at Kings Mountain and at Baldor plants in Georgia and Mississippi.

Fort Smith, Arkansas-based Baldor Electric Company markets, designs, and manufactures industrial electric motors, mechanical power transmission products, drives, and generators. It was founded in 1920 in St. Louis, Missouri.
