altec_160x120Altec LLC of Fort Wayne, Indiana is going out of business, putting its 64 employees on the street by the end of October.

The firm manufactures aerial-lift platforms, such as the bucket trucks used to repair power lines.

Formerly called Lift-All, the firm was purchased by Alabama’s Altec in December 2008.

Birmingham, Alabama-based Altec is the holding company for a global manufacturer of aerial lifts, digger derricks, truck-mounted cranes and specialty equipment for the electric utility, telecom and contractor industries.
