General Mills Adds Jobs In New Mexico

general millsGeneral Mills will create 60 new manufacturing jobs in their newly expanded Albuquerque, New Mexico facility. 90% of these jobs will be filled by local residents with an average starting salary of $42,000 a year. The current 273,000 square foot facility will expand to an additional 176,000 square feet and house two automated production lines. The plant manufactures cereal products including granola bars, fiber bars and fruit bars. The expansion is expected to add $10.9 million in goods and services to the local economy.

Minneapolis based General Mills has operated the Albuquerque plant since 1992. It has 190 full time employees with an annual payroll of $12 million. Locally it has donated more than $5 million in the last ten years to charitable causes.
