Trans States Airlines to Lay Off 150 in Missouri

missouriflag_160x120Regional airline carrier Trans States Airlines announced this week that they will lay off 150 employees. The new lay offs are connected to American Airlines’ plan to reduce the number of flights out of the Lambert-St. Louis International Airport to 36 in April. Trans States flies regional routes for American. The airline will lay off 150 baggage handlers, ticket and gate agents and customer service personnel. The lay offs will occur on April 6.

In December 50 Trans States employees working for United Express Flights also lost their jobs.Trans States Airlines is headquartered in Bridgeton, Missouri and was founded in 1982 as “Resort Air”.
