fordFord Motor Co. is cutting about 900 jobs as it shuts down the second shift at a Michigan assembly plant. The plant in Flat Rock, Mich., which has been in operation since 1987, builds Ford Mustang’s and Mazda 6 Sedan’s.

Reuters reports most of the workers affected will be offered jobs at other Ford plants and the remainder will be offered buyouts. Ford will eliminate the shift on July 12, according to a company spokesperson.
