Waco Veterans Affairs Office Adding 100 Jobs

Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki and U.S. Rep. Chet Edwards announced the VA’s Regional Office in Waco, Tex., is adding 100 claims processing jobs to help expedite service to veterans. The new employees are slated to start March 1.

Officials cited an increased in the number of veterans seeking health care and benefits as the catalyst for the expansion. The Waco VA Regional office serves nearly 940,000 veterans and last year processed 126,000 claims for benefits of about $2 billion.
