Wisconsin Legislation to Create Jobs

New legislation create in Wisconsin was passed as a package of bills designed to encourage economic development and create jobs throughout the state.

The bill is now heading to Governor Jim Doyle for approval.

The legislature has endured much criticism on behalf of Republicans, stating they were not making enough efforts to do something to help out the economy. This legislation is at least in part a response to such commentary.

One of the legislatures proposals is to expand current tax credits and grant programs, adding new initiatives to encourage business development, retention, and worker training.

Tax credits for dairy farmers to modernize or expand operations is another area the bills focus on.
