northcarolinaflag_160x120Up to 115 new jobs are coming to North Carolina by way of a new textile company poised for business.

Jo-Mar Spinning, a new company based in South Carolina, is slated to spend $1 million in order to equip and begin production at the former Helms Plant in Gaston County. The Gaston Gazette reports the yarn-making company plans to hire between 100 and 115 people over the next year.

The company will be led by plant manager Joe Ludlum, who told the paper “this represents a new and great beginning in our company. “ The facility will produce “carded and combed yarns for knitted and woven products,” according to the report.

Ludlum is among several experienced members of the U.S. textile industry that are launching Jo-Mar Spinning.
