SpeakWrite Hiring Up To 200 Typists in Texas

SpeakWrite, a transcribing service based in Austin, Tex., is hiring 100 to 200 typists as independent  contractors, according to a report in the Austin Business Journal.

Experienced legal typists will receive signing bonuses from the company. Full-time, contract typists will work from home and jobs can occur at any time of the day. Duties will include transcribing, correspondence, reports, interviews, meeting minutes, legal pleading and other materials, according to the report.

Speakwrite’s business model is receiving recorded material and transcribing it to paper. It is then mailed back to clients with a few hours.

The additional hiring is the result of an expanding client base, which now numbers more than 35,000 nationwide.
