Baltek Inc., a materials manufacturer, plans to invest $3.5 million for a new factory in High Point, N.C. that will create 68 new jobs.

New Jersey-based Baltek will relocate all of its functions to the High Point factory as part of a consolidation plan, reports The Business Journal of the Greater Triad Area. A member company of Switzerland-based 3A Composites, Baltek manufactures materials that are used in a variety of industries, including wind energy and military equipment.

“The consolidation and relocation of Baltek’s activities to High Point is of strategic significance to the business,” said Pierre Monéton, president of core materials of 3A Composites. High Point will provide us a solid basis from which we can continue to competitively serve our customer base into the future.”

The High Point Economic Development Corp. said the average annual salary for the new jobs will be $43,544, not including benefits.
