Tennessee-based software company Environmental Systems Corp. is opening a development center in Austin, Tex. and are hiring between 100 and 150 workers.

According to the Austin American-Statesman, Austin was selected by the company over several other cities because of its “abundant access to software talent.” The facility has already opened and Environmental Systems is actively recruiting employees.

“Austin stood out for us as the clear choice for ESC based on the rigorous analysis from our city site selection process,” said ESC President Jack Missimer.

The Austin Business Journal reports available positions include sales staff, engineers and software testers. ESC, founded more 40 years ago in Knoxville, has nearly 100 employees and offers a full range of benefits. Its core service is assisting companies and organizations document their compliance of clean air and environmental regulations.
