Natural gas prices are up over 6% this year. The International Energy Association predicts that by 2035 demand could be 50% higher, making natural gas more than 25% of overall energy use (not enough by itself to significantly reduce global warming, however). Prices for natural gas are being boosted by the forecast for hotter weather this summer in cities such as Boston, New York and Chicago. Some experts think that prices are now too high.
