It has taken more than a year for the court battle between Mel Gibson and his ex-girlfriend over custody of their 2-year-old child to get resolved. The acrimony that accompanied the battle both inside and outside the courtroom has substantially damaged the popularity Mr. Gibson enjoyed as one of the top Hollywood stars while Ms. Grigorieva is being looked down upon as one having acted just to extort money. Mr. Gibson had to undergo 36 months probation too on charges of battering his girlfriend apart from seeing his latest film “The Beaver” sink at the box-office.
