Genesis Consolidated Services announced this week that its veteran human resource experts are in support of the Small Business Efficiency Act of 2011. This act is currently being considered in Congress. The bill is gaining bipartisan support, and is seeking to provide support for the company’s small businesses at a time when these company’s health and vitality are critical to the economic success of the United States.

The bill (H.R. 2466, S. 1908), is more commonly known as the Small Business Efficiency Act of 2011. It is viewed as a method to provide administrative services to small businesses by enacting a federal safe harbor provision. The provision will permit small businesses to partner up wioth certified Professional Employer Organizations, or PEOs.

“In an effort to help small businesses become more efficient and competitive, Members of Congress on both sides of the aisle have joined together to bring this bill forward. PEO partnerships provide streamlined Human Resource administration, reduced overhead, and robust employee benefits, while allowing business owners to focus on their core competencies,” said Genesis President Bob Burbidge, according to MarketWatch.

“The strategic Human Resource partnership provided by America’s PEOs has afforded small to medium sized businesses the ability to grow in the midst of a challenging economic climate. Further support for this process will strengthen what has proven to be a winning partnership for American entrepreneurs, innovators and job creators,” observes Patty Hilger, Genesis’ VP of Human Resources and Operations.

“We particularly applaud the efforts of Kevin Brady (R-Texas) and Mike Thompson (D-California) for leading this bi-partisan effort. Paul Tonko (D-New York), Sam Johnson (R-Texas), William Owens (D-New York), Allen West (R-Florida), Wally Herger (R-California) and Ted Poe (R-Texas) are also to be commended for putting politics aside in favor of supporting small businesses, which clearly play a key role in our economic recovery,” adds Diane Stevenson, Chief Financial Officer at Genesis.

The Senate recently threw its hat into the ring after the House of Representatives passed the bill. The Senate threw its hat into the ring by creating its own version of the act, which is S. 1908. The version in the Senate is being campaigned for by Senators Bill Nelson, a Democrat from Florida, and Charles Grassley, a Republican from Iowa.

“Genesis urges swift passage of this important bill, which will fuel America’s small to mid-sized business sector, and add vitality to a struggling economy,” says Bob Burbidge.

“Our client base is growing 12 percent per year, adding more than 8,000 jobs so far in 2011,” said Todd Cohn, TriNet’s director of regulatory affairs. “That’s staggering, when compared to a near-zero job growth per the Department of Labor for the general economy, and proof that startups and small businesses who leverage our type of partnership are kick-starting our country’s economic recovery.”
