Linda Rybak, an employee of Cuyahoga County, is fighting for her job after being accused by the county inspector of a conspiracy. The conspiracy she is accused of is securing a promotion and a raise in an improper manner.

Linda Rybak receive a raise of nearly $5,000 with the human resources job she held in 2008, having to do with civil services. On Monday, a disciplinary hearing took place, which only seemed to last about fiteen minutes. After the hearing, the possibility of Ryback being fired is definitely there.

Rybak wrote a letter stating that she and her husband, Robert Rybak, who is an official for the plumbers’ onion, began a friendship with the Dimora’s because their children participated on the same sports team in school. They also live around the same area as one another.

With the reviews she has received, which were all satisfactory, Rybak claims her promotion has absolutely nothing to do with Jimmy Dimora. She claims that he is a mentally disturbed man and that he is a felon. In the meantime, she says that she worked hard for her promotion and believes she deserved it and earned it through all of the hard work she put into her job. She says that no one has done any favors for her in regards of the raise. She says she know her husband talked to people about her promotion but she says she made sure to let everyone know she did not want to participate in anything that is illegal. She believes that the raise she has received has nothing to do with friendships or favoritism.

However, there was a report made in January of 2011, just last year, in which she was accused of participating in fraudulent activities. The reports came at a time when her husband, Robert Rybak, admitted and plead guilty to bribing Dimora as a way of getting his wife a raise.

And, there is even a transcript from the beginning of 2008 which showed that there was a telephone call between Rybak and Dimora. The discussion over the phone was all about how a raise can get approved by the county commissioners. In the conversation, Dimora said that Rob would need to go after a specific commissioner to see if he could persuade the commissioner to give her the raise. In the phone conversation, Linda said that Rob would be doing a fundraiser with the commissioner in a few weeks from that point, stating the obvious, that it would be a good time for her husband to persuade the commissioner to give her a raise. Dimora agreed with her, believing that would be the best time to persuade him.

According to the FBI, Linda receive a raise in 2008 because she and her husband made sure plumbing work was performed at the Dimora household for free.
