Two states in the country, Ohio and Pennsylvania, are already doing better with the number of jobs that have been created because of the production of shale-gas. It is believed that over the next two and a half decades, each state in the United States will see a large growth of job creation when it comes down to shale jobs. John Larson, who is the author of the IHS report, firmly believes that shale-gas will help to create a large number of jobs in states all around the country. In fact, the number is expected to greatly increase, doubling within the span of about two decades. After all, some of the states in the country are already seeing a large number of jobs being created because of the shale-gas.

In the state of Pennsylvania alone, there have been about 56,884 jobs created, all of which have to do with Marcellus Shale. It is believed that by 2015, the number of shale-gas jobs available in the state of Pennsylvania will be at 111,024 and nearly double that within twenty years. While Ohio has a number of jobs available that relate to shale-gas, the growth is not as large as Pennsylvania, specifically because Pennsylvania started the development of shale beforehand. Larson believes that Ohio will soon reach the levels that Pennsylvania is seeing.

During the year of 2015, there are two states in particular that will take the lead for job creation in the United States. Those two states are Colorado and Pennsylvania, as both will see double digit percentage increases. For the nation as a whole, it is expected that there will only be an employment growth percentage of around 1.6 percent. The figures that Pennsylvania is currently showing are good, especially during a period of time in which the economy is currently crippled because of the recession and is still in recovery mode. There are other states that will soon see jobs created, beating out the national average. Many employers are expecting to improve their place of work, with more jobs being created and more employees being hired.

In the meantime, gas development and its increase have helped to make a huge impact for several states, including Pennsylvania and Ohio, helping both states to bring in millions of dollars’ worth of revenue. In fact, gas activity has helped to create millions of jobs in the nation and is expected to increase by at least 1.5 million within the next three years. Several of the states will be able to notice an impact on the economy, especially the state that are considered to be producing states but even those states that are not producing states will notice an overall impact.
