EU’s 7-Year Budget Surprise Deal

The European Union has announced that it has developed a new budget, estimated to be around 960 billion Euros (equivalent of 1.27 trillion dollars). The budget must still obtain finalization from the EU’s parliamentary body. This initiative has come as a shock, since much of the parliament has been in disagreement over budget austerity measures. This new budget contains finances that many hope will stimulate the flagging European economies.
