Hundreds Line Up for Green Jobs
Post Views 0Hundreds of people so far have lined up for a job fair today in Indiantown, Florida, where contractors seek to hire 1,100 workers to build a Florida Power & Light solar power plant.
Construction on the $400 million plant begins soon, and should be finished by the end of 2010. They seek carpenters, pipe fitters, plumbers, electricians and assembly workers.
Florida Power & Light Company, the principal subsidiary of FPL Group, is a Juno Beach, Florida-based power utility which serves roughly 4.4 million customers in Florida. FPL Group holds power generation assets in more than 20 states.
FPL is the co-owner of 100 solar power plants, the largest array in the world.
