interiordept_160x120The United States Department of the Interior’s National Business Center has launched a pilot program for its Human Resource Management Suite, an electronic onboarding system designed to facilitate the new-hire orientation process across the federal government.

The program works with systems already in use among Federal agencies. The software anticipates vacancies and guides employers though the formal hiring process.

The pilot program is currently limited to the National Business Center itself. At the end of June, certain offices at the Interior and Transportation Departments will join the program, which is expected to be available to all agencies by August.

One feature tracks the new employee’s hiring process and shares the new hire’s information across multiple systems. A second feature allows applicants and hires to fill out necessary forms online, including security access documents.

The Human Resource Management Suite was originally developed by NASA.
