City Holds 3rd Job Fair This Year

The City of Roanoke, Virginia held its third job fair this year this week. The city usually holds one per year at the Roanoke Civic Center.

On Wednesday, more than 1,200 job seekers lined up to apply for 700 jobs. The city is not sure if it will hold another job fair this year.

Roanoke is an independent city located in the Roanoke Metropolitan Area in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The city of Roanoke is adjacent to the city of Salem and the town of Vinton, and is otherwise surrounded by, but politically separate from, Roanoke County. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 94,911.
