Capsugel of South Carolina Will Add 50 Jobs

southcarolina_160x120Capsugel of Greenwood, South Carolina projects that it will create 50 jobs in 2010 after a 14,500 square foot expansion of its facilities. This expansion will include additional office, lab and production space. Construction of the expanded facility should be completed by early 2011. The expansion has been made possible by a $15 million investment in conjunction with the Greenwood Partnership Alliance and coordinated with several local agencies. Capsugel received a South Carolina Rural Infrastructure grant and contributions by Duke Energy and a fee-in-lieu-of-tax agreement, giving Capsugel a property tax reduction from 10.5% to 6%.

Capsugel manufactures capsules and liquid drug delivery products. Capsugel is headquartered in Peapack NJ and employs more than 700 worldwide. It has additional facilities in several locations including Boston, Massachusetts, Mexico City, Mexico, Delhi, India, Hong Kong and Cambridge, U.K.
