Caterpillar Bringing 500 Additional Jobs to South Carolina

caterpillar_160x120Caterpillar Inc. expects to add 500 new jobs in South Carolina through an expansion of its facility in Newberry County. The company said it plans to raise production of it diesel and gas-powered generator sets at the facility and the resulting jobs should come over the next few years.

“The expansion of our Newberry operation is part of the Electric Power Division’s strategic global manufacturing plan for better serving our customers. South Carolina has been an excellent fit for our company, and we are pleased to be increasing operations at our Newberry facility,” said Joseph Mulay of Caterpillar.

Caterpillar opened its Newberry plant in 2006. The company plans to begin hiring for the new positions in the coming months. Interested candidates can go to www.jointeamcaterpillar.com for more information.
