Promising Future Predicted for Indiana’s Job Market
Post Views 0The National Skills Coalition has predicted a promising future for the job market of Indiana. It is estimated that a staggering 400,00 jobs will be created by 2016.
The study points to “middle skills” jobs such as pipe layers, mechanics, and electricians, suggesting they will be in high demand.
“It basically confirms a lot of what Ivy Tech sees as the direction we are heading,” said executive director of workforce development at Ivy Tech Community College, LeAnne Crooks.
The study suggests that the bulk of these jobs will require more than a high school education, but something less than a four year college degree.
“Once you get that two year degree you do become highly marketable,” said Tamara Lawlyes.
