NS Aviation_logo NS Aviation announced plans to build an airplane maintenance, repair and overhaul facility in Winston-Salem, North Carolina that will create about 300 new jobs in the area. NS Aviation officials revealed that their new headquarters will be set up in the vacant hangars and space formerly used by the now-defunct Pace Airlines Inc. The company said that a capital investment nearing 1.3 million will be spent to make the project possible. About 125 new jobs, mostly mechanic positions, will be created in its first year of operations and an additional 308 more jobs is slated over the next four years. Successful applicants will receive yearly salaries between $42,072- $80,000 in size, a compensation wage that is above the average amount in the area.

Charlie Creech, president of NS Aviation, expressed his excitement over the new investment. Creech said that NS Aviation is pleased to know that the new project will create new job opportunities in Winston-Salem. “We are very excited to bring new job opportunities to Winston-Salem and give people an opportunity to work for a locally owned company. A lot of people have worked very hard to bring this to reality.”

North Carolina Gov. Bev Perdue said that the state is in full support of the project. Perdue revealed that the state has proposed a total of $800,000 tax-incentives to assist NS Aviation’s expansion plan. He said that the proposal is now being reviewed by the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners. Perdue added that the state of North Carolina is now becoming an attractive site for business expansions. “Not only are our workforce, infrastructure and strong-business climate helping us attract new investments, but we are helping hundreds of North Carolina families get back on their feet.”

NS Aviation is the third company to invest in the area in the recent months. Both Pepsi and Caterpillar have expressed an intention to hire additional employees in the area by 2012.
