Williams EnergyOklahoma-based Fortune 500-company, Williams Energy, a natural gas transportation company, has announced plans to open new offices in Tunkhannock, Wyoming.

According to the Appalachian Basin location’s general manager, Ryan Savage, “By the end of 2013, we project having added close to 100 new jobs in Wyoming and Susquehanna counties. The truth is you are sitting on one of the largest natural gas resources in the world, and while it makes some people uncomfortable, it’s going to create a beehive of activity and a lot of jobs for you.”

Savage stated that the company had already brought 17 new jobs to the state last year, and will bring at least 30 more by the end of 2011.

The office in Tunkhannock will open, at the latest, on April 1st.

Savage said that Williams would be on the lookout for technicians and electricians who have transferable skills that would help them build compressor stations or to lay pipe.
