The unemployment rate is currently the highest it has been in three months. The number of applications has been increasing for a month. The economy added zero net jobs last month and the unemployment rate remained at 9.1 percent. Companies are hiring fewer workers and the government is cutting jobs. As a result, the White House is facing pressure to create jobs, including President Obama’s $447 billion jobs package.
