A bill introduced in Congress on Friday, December 9th by Rep. Dave Camp (R-Mich.) proposes to cut federal unemployment insurance benefits from a 73 to 33 weeks maximum in 2012. The program serves the long-term unemployed and is set to expire at year’s end if it’s not renewed by Congress.
