Many College Graduates Getting Stuck in Low-Paying Service Jobs
Post Views 1Recent college graduates are having a hard time finding jobs related to their interests, lately defaulting to low-paying service jobs.
53% of the people surveyed who graduated between 2006 and 2010 had full-time jobs, another 14% were back in school. Additionally, the most recent graduates were the most affected, with 40% of them working in bookstores, coffee shops and other positions that don’t require a four-year degree.
Their biggest concerns are currently related to how they’ll pay for food, rent, car insurance, cell phone bills and especially, student loans, paying for a degree they have yet to put to use.
