The Board of Education for School District 64 of Park Ridge-Niles recently made an announcement about a promotion that was made. Joel Martin, the principal for Lincoln Middle School within the school district has been promoted and will now serve as the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources. He will begin his new position on the 1st of July and will be taking the place of Dr. Sandra Stringer. Stringer has decided to retire. She has worked within the position for a decade.

Joel Martin was only in his second year of working as a principal for the middle school but now the school will have to find a new principal since he has accepted the promotion. The search for a new principal will become active shortly and staff members, including teachers, will also have a say when it comes to the person who is chosen for the position.

With his new position, Martin will work as a leader for the district and its employees. He will be responsible for the hiring process and the evaluation process of the different staff members for the school district. He will have many responsibilities but he is prepared for the challenge and has plenty of experience.

The Superintendent, Philip Bender, says that he knows Mr. Martin will do exceptionally well with his new position. Bender says that he has been quite impressed at how fast and efficiently Mr. Martin has been able to become successful and build amazing relationship with plenty of the staff members along with other employees that work within the District. Bender says that because Martin is so committed to his work, he made an excellent fit for the position he will now have.

While Mr. Martine was the principal of Lincoln Middle School for two years, he has experience with other different types of District groups. Some of those groups include policy and the wellness committee. He started at the District 64 during 2010 and came from School District 140. At District 140, he worked as the principal of a middle school for approximately six years. In previous years, he even worked as a teacher for middle school students.

Joel Martin graduated from Illinois State University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree. He also holds a Master’s from the Governors State University. He is even working on receiving his Doctor of Education degree at Lewis University. While there were 50 applicants for the position that Martin has received, he was the one that was chosen. He was selected after careful screening and plenty of interviews and the School District members all believe he was the absolute best choice for the position. They know he will not let them down and that he will do an excellent job.
