Holder Defends Justice Department for Seizing Journalists’ Records

A mass seizure of Associated Press telephone records covering a two month period ended in the apparent foiling of a terrorist plot Tuesday. Although some rules were apparently skirted to quickly retrieve all of the needed information the, Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. felt that these steps were necessary for the safety of Americans and that justified his ignoring 1st Amendment rights.
