Baystate BiofuelsMassachusetts-based Baystate Biofuels will open the first full-scale commercial biodiesel terminal in the state.

Construction of the terminal in North Andover will begin this month. The company plans to sell biodiesel to oil companies seeking to comply with Massachusetts’ Clean Energy Biofuels Act of 2008.

The number of new jobs to be created at the facility has not been announced.

Dr. Blair Ellyn Reich and Jerry Gupta founded Baystate Biofuels, LLC in 2008, in response to the rising food and oil costs in the United States. It is headquartered in North Andover, Massachusetts.
