DHS Announces New HR Honcho

dhs_160x120US Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano has appointed Jeff Neal as Chief Human Capital Officer.

Neal will focus on retaining and recruitment for the 225,000-employee agency, which was established as a Cabinet department in 2002, in the wake of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

He will work to enhance diversity at DHS, and build department-wide systems to provide training, education and professional development opportunities.

Neal was Chief Human Capital Officer at the 23,000-employee Defense Logistics Agency. Previously, he was Deputy Director of Human Resources at the Department of Commerce.
