UW-Madison Loses 44-Year HR Administrator

uwmadison_160x120Carla Raatz has retired from her position as Director of the Office of Human Resources at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Raatz was a human resources administrator at UW-Madison for 44 years. She retired July 5th. Steve Lund, director of the Academic Personnel Office, will serve as interim director of the OHR.

Raatz joined UW-Madison as a department administrator in the Department of Nuclear Physics in 1967, and became OHR Director in 1988.

As Director of OHR, Raatz reorganized the office to encompass the Benefits Services and Payroll & Financial Services offices and the UW Service Center, which is responsible for UW System-wide payroll and benefits.

Raatz will continue to contribute to the university’s Human Resources System project.
