Furniture Maker Opening New Plant in Virginia
Post Views 0Furniture maker Kimball Hospitality plans to open a new plant in Martinsville, Va. that will create 67 jobs.
According to the Business First of Louisville, Kimball selected the location because of the availability of skilled furniture workers with sewing, upholstery and design experience.
“This new operation represents our commitment to enhance Kimball Hospitality’s capabilities in pursuit of growth and additional market share,” Kimball International president and CEO Jim Thyen said the release. “We believe this combination of the area’s experience and dedication to excellence, along with our existing global presence and financial strength, will not only support our growth strategy but also add increased value to both new and existing customer relationships.”
Kimball Hospitality is a division of Kimball International Inc., which is based in Jasper, Ind. The company’s furniture is used in hotels, resorts and casinos and its line includes ottomans, lounge chairs and sofas.
The new facility will be used for administrative offices, a showroom and production facilities.
