callcenter_160x120Call center operator West Corp. will conduct a job fair in Omaha next Tuesday to fill about 300 jobs, the Associated Press reports.

The fair will be held at the company’s headquarters in west Omaha. The company said it needs the additional workers because it has a new health care client and that demand is increasing among its existing customers.

Total employment at West Corp. is down from 38,000 in March to 35,000 currently, which company spokesman David Pleiss said is the result of a stagnant economy.

“We’re not seeing any dramatic improvements that would lead us to see a rebound. But it’s not getting worse either,” Pleiss told the AP.

West Corp. also provides conference, emergency-management and customer-support services in addition to operating call centers.
