150 Jobs to be Created by BlueChip Energy LLC in New Solar Farm

Florida based BlueChip Energy LLC has recently signed an agreement to purchase property in Central Florida. Originally the company planned on leasing the property, but decided later to purchase the land to enhance the projects “bankability”.  It has plans to develop a solar farm there with a 40-megawatt capacity.  This will create about 150 construction jobs in Florida, and will cost an estimated $200 million to complete.

Once it is complete, it will be the largest photovoltaic solar plant in all of Florida, as well as the third largest in the U.S.  It will generate about 64 million kilowatt hours a year, which is enough to supply electricity to 8,000 homes in Florida.  The generated power is going to be sold both to local and regional areas.

It location is proposed to be about 50 miles northwest of Orlando, and it is a ground-mount system that will cover 140 acres when it is complete.  It will be built in stages, and will eventually consist of 140,000 solar panels.

BlueChip Energy LLC is also currently working on development for a 10-megawatt Solar Farm in Lake Mary, Florida, and the first stage of production is complete on that project.
