Popular human resources practices of nurturing, training, teamwork and otherwise helping employees to grow and succeed are often interpreted as signs of weakness relative to supervisors who rule with little or no regard for the needs and personal goals of individuals they manage. The unfortunate consequence of this is that HR Managers are commonly perceived as less effective than their iron-fisted counterparts.
