GE is Hiring in Texas

It looks like General Electric is going to be hiring on and training new employees in the near future. The jobs are going to coming to workers in the north Fort Worth, Texas area. The company will be hiring out workers in the manufacturing sector, creating both mining equipment and locomotive parts for the company.

While the company has not been too forthcoming on exactly how many people they are expecting to hire on, the hiring and training has already begun. So, if you live in, or are willing to relocate to, the are for work you will want to get an application in as soon as possible in order to be considered. After all with unemployment being high all over the nation, and jobs in manufacturing being among some of the worst hit, these jobs are likely to have many applicants vying for them, and earlier applications are better than later ones.

For now the company has not put out anything about what kind of qualifications they are looking for this many be because of the diversity of positions the company will be hiring for. When a search was made of openings in Texas currently posted on the company’s employment site 286 entries were made. Of those entries positions ranged from titles such as “Manufacturing Finance Leader – Locomotive Job” to “Intellectual Property Engineer Job” and even “Inventory Clerk – Control Specialist Job” So it looks like there are many types of openings out there for those of you who are currently in search of a job.

The company also made a serious investment in another company recently. In a release put out by GE the following was said, “GE Antares, a unit of GE Capital, announced today it served as administrative agent on a $405 million senior credit facility to support the acquisition of Tank Holdings Corp. by Leonard Green & Partners. GE Capital Markets served as lead left arranger and joint bookrunner on the transaction. Jointly headquartered in Lincoln, Neb. and St. Bonifacius, Minn., Tank Holdings Corp. is North America’s leading manufacturer of proprietary rotational molded polyethylene and steel storage tanks and containers used in above ground, below ground and portable applications.”
