Infosys may not be a name that many of you may have heard of in the past, but it is one that many of you may be happy to hear in the near future. For those of you not familiar with the company here is a look at how they have chosen to describe themselves, “Many of the world’s most successful organizations rely on the 151,000 people of Infosys to deliver measurable business value. Infosys provides business consulting, technology, engineering and outsourcing services to help clients in over 30 countries build tomorrow’s enterprise.”

The good new s is that the company is getting ready to hire, in the USA, in a big way. The company will be, between now and the end of the current year, be brining about 2,000 workers on board. The new jobs will be primarily at the company’s new delivery center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, though there is the possibility of support jobs being hired on as well.

In a release put out by the company it was explained why the expansion is being made in this area, “Infosys is investing in the Midwest region of the United States to support its clients in the area, including Harley-Davidson. The initiation of a five-year engagement with the world’s leading American motorcycle manufacturer was the catalyst for locating the new delivery center in Milwaukee. Harley-Davidson’s contract with Infosys provides a range of technology services including applications management, infrastructure support and hosting services. As part of this long-term partnership, Infosys also will establish a training center to facilitate knowledge reuse and to conduct education related to information technology operations and business processes.”

So, it looks like as long as Infosys is working with Harley there will be jobs to be had in Milwaukee. This is not the first time that the company has hired in the US in recent months, despite the global economic downturn. The company also hired  about 1,200 people in the United States in 2011, so at least for this company business is booming.

It looks like the folks over at Harley are also excited about the move. David Cotteleer, Harley-Davidson vice president and chief information officer, had the following to say about the openings in the same statement, “The engagement with Infosys is part of Harley-Davidson’s overall realignment of its internal information services and technology capability. Given the rapidly changing IT landscape, a strategic partner can more effectively provide technology related services in many areas, including data network engineering and data center operations. After a thorough review, we are pleased to have selected Infosys for its leadership in technology innovation and the quality of its services and support. We also appreciate their commitment to job creation in Milwaukee.”

For now the company has not give out a date on when they expect the hiring will begin and what positions, exactly they are looking to hire for. It professionals who are in search of a job should in the area should keep a keen eye on the hiring site for the company, as listings are expected to posted as the need arises.
