Study: 75% of N.C. Businesses Plan to Expand this Year
Post Views 0Here’s some good news out of North Carolina: More than 75 percent of the members of the non-profit Council of Entrepreneurial Development expect to add workers over the next 12 months, and just 6 percent foresee reducing payroll over the next year.
The Triangle Business Journal reports more than half the respondents in the online poll came from the fields of professional services and consulting, technology and information technology, and life sciences, which includes biotechnology and pharmaceuticals.
Most of the respondents, or 70 percent, were from small businesses that employ fewer than 50 people.
About 12 percent of respondents are planning expansion into overseas markets during the next year.
The CED, which has 5,500 members, supports entrepreneurs and promotes entrepreneurship in the Raleigh-Durham area.
