Cal State Fullerton’s 2010 economic forecast is predicting the addition of 7,000 new jobs in Orange County by the end of the year.

The unemployment rate is expected to go down only moderately, the forecast anticipates a decrease to 9 percent, not a significant compared to the current 10.1 percent level experienced in March.

“We are more firm in our expectations for a recovery than we were in October,” said dean of the Mihaylo College of Business and Economics Anil Puri. “There’s far more basis for expecting a sustained recovery and not a ‘W’ or double dip — and there’s an outside chance it could be V-shaped.”
