Software Firm Brings 500 Jobs to Detroit

Software firm GalaxE Solutions is bringing some 500 jobs to downtown Detroit, Michigan.

The company is among 10 corporate projects that were given tax breaks today by the Michigan Economic Development Growth Authority (MEGA) board. The tax incentive is estimated to be worth $4.6 million over the next five years. Detroit is still considering further property tax breaks for the companies second U.S. facility, the initial one being in New Jersey.

“We looked outside of New Jersey for another city in the United States where we could do the most good, where there was a base of talented people to draw from,” said chairman and CEO Tim Bryan. “Detroit made sense in that respect.”
