FRHSD Announces Changes to Administration

In New Jersey, the Freehold Regional High School District (FRHSD) announced that on December 20, there were administrative changes made. Those changes were made because of an ongoing investigation by the administration that is related to multiple school matters that do not involve students. This is according to a statement released by the administration.

Jennifer Sharp, the district’s human resources administrative supervisor was tapped to replace Jeff Simon, the Manalapan High School principal. Until further notice, Sharp was named the acting principal of Manalapan High School.

Simon was the principal for Manalapan High School since September of 2007 but he is now on administrative leave from the school. In 2008, Sharp joined the district after working for the Winslow Township School District as a teacher, assistant principal, interim principal and central office director. Sharp earned her bachelor’s degree in history from Rutgers University in 1993 and then earned her master’s degree in educational administration at Wilmington University in 2004. This information was published in a letter that was sent home to the parents of students that attend Manalapan High School.

Since joining the Freehold Regional High School District three years ago, Sharp has served as a testing coordinator and the program administrator of Title I.

In other moves regarding the administration within the district, Thomas Gallahue, the Manalapan Assistant Principal, has been assigned temporarily as an assistant principal at Freehold Township High School. Gallahue was working in the middle of his second year as the assistant principal at Manalapan High School.

At Manalapan High School, the temporary assistant principal has been named and it is Adam Angelozzi. For the past three years, Angelozzi was serving as the assistant principal at Freehold Township. Angelozzi previously worked as the science and technology supervisor for the Barnegat Township School District. At Barnegat and New Egypt High Schools, Angelozzi taught physics and chemistry. Angelozzi acquired his bachelor’s degree in physics education from The College of New Jersey. Angelozzi then earned a master’s degree in educational administration from Rider University from Rider University. Right now, Angelozzi is in his second year of a doctorate education program at Rowan University, according to News Transcript.

In a statement released by the district, it said, “the administrative changes are being made in the interest of the students. The FRHSD is committed to ensuring an orderly school environment that is conducive for learning. Parents and guardians will be notified in writing regarding the administrative changes and to ensure them that every effort is being made to prevent disruptions to the regular operations of the schools, as well as to the teaching and learning of the students.”
