When applying to new jobs, remember to target and stalk your potential employers. This means fine-tuning your interest in this company; it means knowing what to ask and why. If asked about reasons for leaving your pervious place of employment – remember to downplay the layoff. Don’t sound defensive, insecure, or bitter as it might stir the manager’s opinion of you the wrong way.
