Will People Accept a Cut in Pay to Continue Working from Home?

A lot of telecommunication employees are ready to take a pay cut to work from home. Staples Advantage did a survey of 140 telecommuters and found that 40% were ready to take a pay cut to work from home. 74% were ready to take a pay cut between 2% – 5%. 20% were ready to take a 10% pay cut. The following things were also found when working from home: stress levels went down 25%, 73% eat healthier, 76% were willing to work longer hours, 76% were “more loyal to their company,” and 80% thought that they had a better balance between work and life. Companies are concerned about expenses of setting up a home office, but many employees take on their own expenses: 87% provide their own furniture, 60% their own equipment for their home office, and 57% buy the supplies they need out of their own pocket.
